CUS Parents Association (CUSPA)
● To support the school in achieving its educational objectives along with promoting the Catholic Marist ethos of the school
● To encourage parent participation in the well- being and interests of the pupils of the school
● Provide opportunities for discussion, information and consultation about matters of common interest to parents, students and pupils.
All parents / guardians of current students of CUS are members of the Parents’ Association.
The members are represented by a Committee, with elected officers of Chairperson, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasure who sit for a three-year term. Whilst the sitting committee is limited to 24 Parent representatives the committee welcome the help and support of any Parents who wish to volunteer on an ad hoc basis to assist with our many events.
Our Annual General Meeting is held in October each year. At the AGM we invite parents to volunteer to become members of the Parents Association committee. We always welcome new members and new ideas.
The committee usually meets once a month (minimum 6 per annum). The meetings are also attended on occasion by the Principal and Vice Principal

Calendar of Committee Events
Notification of all events organised by the Committee are circulated via the school office and are included on the events page of the CUS website. The following are the key events organised by the committee;
Annual Cake Sale
The cake sale usually falls before the Halloween break and also acts as a fundraiser for the CUS Hamper Fund and the Philippines Project.
The event is run in conjunction with the junior school whose enthusiasm and costumes add great excitement to the occasion. It’s also a nice opportunity for Parents to call to the school for a “cuppa and a cake”. The highlight of the morning being the “bake–off” for those whose talents extend beyond Rocky Roads!
A recent addition to the event schedule is the Parents Lunch, which to date has been held in the Conrad Hotel. This has proven to be a very enjoyable occasion for all attending. It’s a welcome opportunity to meet other parents in a relaxed social setting, especially those who are new to the School.
Throughout the school year expert speakers are invited by the Association to discuss a range of socially topical issues such as study skills, bullying, mental health awareness and some general Parental advice, which never goes astray!
The committee members provide hospitality support to many of the wonderful milestone events in the school calendar. Events such as welcoming the new community of first year parents, congratulating the students and parents at the annual Prize giving ceremonies, the Christmas Carol services and supporting the many sporting events in the Pavilion on Bird avenue. The most memorable is always the farewell reception for the 6th year graduates and their Parents. These events nurture a wonderful sense of community and friendships amongst the CUS parents.
