Student Exchange: France

The French Exchange Programme at Catholic University School offers students a unique opportunity to experience everyday life in Lille, a vibrant city in northern France. Designed for 5th Year students studying French, this exchange brings classroom learning to life through authentic cultural immersion and real-world language use.

CUS students stay with French host families, attend school alongside their exchange partners, and explore the social and cultural fabric of French life. From navigating a new city to riding scooters to school and sharing meals with their host families, students quickly gain confidence in their spoken French while building friendships across borders.

The return visit welcomes French students to CUS, where they attend classes and experience Irish hospitality first-hand. The exchange fosters linguistic growth, cultural appreciation, and personal development, giving students a deeper understanding of both French life and their own identity as global citizens.
