Mission Statement

Our Mission at Catholic University School
Inspiring Excellence, Integrity, and Faith in Every Student
Catholic University School (C.U.S.) is a private, Catholic Secondary School for boys.
Under the Trusteeship of the Marist Fathers, CUS is located in the heart of Dublin, onLower Leeson Street.
The Marist Order was founded in 1836 and almost immediately the Marists set up schoolswhich emphasised excellence in learning and provided a context which would develop apupil’s sense of values in accordance with the Gospel.
We believe passionately in the value of the education that we provide to the pupils whoattend Catholic University School.
Fr. Colin, the founder of the Society of Mary, described the work of education as aformation of heart, mind, character and virtue.
The philosophy of the school addresses the challenge of forming our pupils into youngmen who display courtesy and sensitivity to all and who can act with integrity and a senseof responsibility.
As educators, we in CUS recognise our responsibility to develop the full potential of theboys, something that will be different for each and every one of them, and to fosterexcellence in everything we do and everything we ask of the boys.
In this regard we are also conscious that the school is more than an academic institution.CUS as a school strives to evoke in our students a gratitude for what they have receivedthat will in turn impel them to be generous towards those in society who have been lessfortunate.
Our aim is to educate them to recognise and accept their responsibility in playing their part to create a more just and Christian society.
