Principal’s Update

Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we enter our third week of remote learning, I wish to thank you all for your continued support for the students, teachers, and staff of CUS in these challenging times.
By 'remotely' teaching in line with our published timetable we are committed to keeping the daily routine of the boys as close as possible to the normal school day. The overall feedback we are receiving has been very positive and barring a few minor glitches, which are to be expected, the transition has been very smooth. Although, any suggestions you may have for improvement are most welcome.
As per my previous email, the dates for the 3rd and 6th Year Mocks Examinations and in-house assessments are currently under review as we await further guidelines from the Department of Education regarding the return to school.
As part of our continuing process of whole-school curriculum development the teachers will be attending Continuous Professional Development courses on Tuesday February 2nd. This date was agreed in the previous academic year and is mandated by the Department of Education, it involves all post-primary schools throughout the month of February thus, there will be no online tuition on this day.
At no time in recent memory has the need for community been more important. I understand that this maybe a time of increased anxiety for many of us within our CUS family, please remember,  the school, teachers and staff are always available to assist in any way we can so please do not hesitate to contact us.
The School Campus remains open from 08:30am - 4:00 pm Monday to Friday.
As we are currently in Catholic Schools Week, Fr. John O'Gara sm will be celebrating mass on Friday January 29th at 10:00 am which can be viewed online as a live stream. This link will be posted to our School App.
We look forward to the return to school of our boys and we offer our prayers for those who are experiencing anxiety that they may find peace of mind and spirit and be comforted by our Mother Mary.
Yours,
Clive Martin
Principal
