Gaisce – The President’s Award at CUS
An Extraordinary Journey of Personal Growth, Service, and Adventure
At Catholic University School, students are encouraged to challenge themselves and grow beyond the classroom through the Gaisce – The President’s Award. As part of our extracurricular programme, Gaisce offers students the chance to set personal goals, serve their communities, and take part in meaningful adventures, all while working toward a prestigious national award.
Gaisce is a self-development programme for young people aged 14 to 25, with three levels of achievement—Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Each level involves a commitment to four key areas:
- Community Involvement – Volunteering time and effort to help others.
- Personal Skill – Developing a new skill or refining a current talent.
- Physical Recreation – Committing to a physical activity for fitness and well-being.
- Adventure Journey – Participating in a team expedition that fosters resilience and exploration.
Through Gaisce, students at CUS build confidence, leadership, and a sense of purpose—while gaining recognition for their achievements. It’s more than an award; it’s a journey of growth, challenge, and real-world experience that stays with them for life.
