Tennis at CUS – Precision, Performance, and Passion
Year-Round Coaching and Summer Competition Across All Age Levels
Tennis at Catholic University School has seen incredible growth over the past two years, becoming one of the most popular and spirited sports in our extra-curricular programme. With professional coaching from Jamie Pilkington and his team at Rathgar Tennis Club, students have the opportunity to develop their game in a supportive, structured, and competitive environment.
The programme runs throughout the academic year and is especially vibrant in the summer term, when CUS fields teams at every level — Minor, Junior, and Senior — in the Leinster Schools’ Tennis League. CUS entered more teams than ever before: two First Year teams, three 2nd/3rd Year teams, and one Senior Team. These teams delivered some impressive victories on the road and helped build a strong sense of school spirit and camaraderie.
Students of all abilities are welcome, from beginners picking up a racquet for the first time to experienced players seeking high-level match play. The coaching and match experience help players improve technical skills, tactical understanding, and mental resilience—all while enjoying a fun and active sport.
In recent seasons, CUS tennis teams have made a habit of reaching the knockout stages across multiple divisions, a testament to the hard work, dedication, and team pride shown by our players.
Looking ahead, the goal is clear: win a division and continue to build on this momentum. With a growing number of enthusiastic players and expert support from Rathgar Tennis Club, tennis at CUS is well and truly on the rise.
